1. BownessFest Canada Day Festival

BownessFest believes that celebrating the country’s birthday through culture, arts, and cuisine can foster community cohesion. On July 1st, there will be lively music and performance lineup, mouth-watering truck food from the city, handcraft market, free community barbecue, face painting, carnival games, etc. The event will run from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

2. Canada Day in Canmore

As Calgary’s backyard, the town of Canmore has a wealth of activities prepared for everyone on July 1st. From 9 AM to 11 AM, a free traditional Stampede pancake breakfast will be provided, and at 12 noon there will be the annual Canada Day parade. The parade includes holiday floats, energetic band performances, and the spirit of indigenous cultural heritage. This year’s parade theme is “Feels Like Summer!” Bring your chairs and blankets to enjoy the good times.

3. Heritage Park Historical Village

Through the ups and downs of history, today’s Canada has a diverse culture, language, and traditions. On July 1st, there’s no better place to spend Canada Day than at the Heritage Park Historical Village. The whole family is welcomed to go back in time and appreciate antique cars, old-style gas stations, trains, etc., from the early 20th century to the 1950s in the museum. There will also be traditional food and markets on-site, celebrating Canada’s birthday with a sense of nostalgic fun!

4. Airdrie Parade and Fireworks

A 30-minute drive from Calgary, Airdrie will hold a Canada Day parade on the main street at 10 AM on July 1st. At 10:45 PM, fireworks will be set off at Chinook Winds Park. Parking is limited on-site, so it’s recommended to take public transportation, cycle, or walk.
